Every month I post a summary of all the dividends I’ve received over that time period. I started investing in late December 2014, and didn’t receive my first dividends until February 2015, when I earned $6.26. This is effectively the second month I’ve ever received dividends in my life, so let’s take a look at who paid me what, and how my earnings stack up compared to last month.
|BreitBurn Energy Partners||$2.83|
|Johnson & Johnson||$7.00|
|National Oilwell Varco||$8.74|
|Textainer Group Holdings||$7.05|
Wow, I received a grand total of $51.29 in dividends in March!!! That’s like a 720% increase over last month’s payout of $6.26, which is completely ludicrous, haha. Obviously, my portfolio is nowhere near the point where it will be spitting out these kinds of earnings every month yet. It just so happened that the majority of my current holdings all share the same dividend payment schedule, but next month the dividends will undoubtedly return to more reasonable levels like they were in February.
Nevertheless, context aside, these earnings were still amazing in an absolute sense. My second month of dividend investing, ever, and I receive over 50 bucks…well if that isn’t motivation enough to stick to the plan and keep giving it my all, I don’t know what is!
Anyway, that pretty much sums up March. A truly fantastic month and a great motivator to keep raking in those sweet, sweet dividends. Onward to April!
