Every month I will be posting a summary of all the dividends I received over that time period. I started investing in late December 2014, so I didn’t earn any income that month. In January I started buying the bulk of my initial positions using the savings I had built up until then, so it was also an empty month earnings-wise. February was effectively the first month I ever received any dividends. I was so excited! So without further ado, let’s take a look at who paid me what:
|Omega Healthcare Investors||$2.65|
As you can see, I received a grand total of $6.26 in dividends for the month of February 2015. Obviously this is a tiny amount since I only just started investing, but we all have to start somewhere, right? After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day. And honestly, I am very proud of those first six bucks! 😛
One of the things that I love about dividend investing is that you start seeing real, tangible results almost immediately. It has only been a little over a month-and-a-half since I started and I am already starting to reap the fruits of my labor (or rather, my money’s labor 😉 ) in the form of these dividends, which are nothing less than cold, hard cash being deposited right into my account. What more could I ask for? It doesn’t get much better than this! Furthermore, immediate results are a great way to encourage you to stick to your plan because those results give you a confirmation that what you are doing is working, thus building your trust in what you are doing.
It will be very interesting to see by how much my dividend income will have increased in a year’s time. In the meantime, I just have to keep moving forward and wait for the dividends to keep rolling in. Onward to March!
