With April 2016 now a thing of the past, it’s time to publish another dividend report! My portfolio keeps pumping out these sweet, sweet divis like clockwork on a regular basis without my doing anything; it’s so awesome to see that money hit my account every month without having to lift a finger — almost as awesome as listening to this Nightcore remix of Blue (Da Ba Dee) with 1.25 playback speed:
Anyway, let’s take a look at what I earned in April!
|BHP Billiton (BBL)||$3.20|
|Starwood Property Trust (STWD)||$68.16|
My earnings came in just a few cents short of $80 — not bad!
The big breadwinner this month was Starwood Property Trust with a whopping $68. STWD is one of my favorite REITs and one of my earlier investments, into which I actually significantly averaged down just a month ago.
This month also marked the last time that I’ll be receiving dividends from BBL, after I closed out my position in the company a few weeks ago when I gave my portfolio a soft reboot.
There isn’t really much else to say here. The first month of the quarter is always a little light in paying companies for me; most of my portfolio’s holdings give out their dividends in the second and, especially, the third month of the quarter.
Onward to May!
Disclosure: long BNS, STWD
